Who Is a Good Candidate for Somnowell?

The Somnowell anti-snoring device can be an effective solution for many, but it’s not right for everyone. Here’s who tends to benefit — and when you’ll need further medical evaluation.

Who Can Benefit from Somnowell

Somnowell is designed for people who:

  • Snore during sleep

If snoring is your issue — whether nightly or occasionally — Somnowell may help reduce the noise and associated symptoms.

  • Have mild or some moderate obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA)

We can consider Somnowell for mild OSA cases, and in certain moderate cases too. However, those with severe OSA must first be evaluated by a physician, such as a chest or ENT specialist, and may require different treatments.

  • Are dentally fit

Before using any oral appliance like Somnowell, your dentist needs to confirm good oral health: healthy gums, stable teeth, and well-maintained crowns or fillings. If there are unresolved dental issues, those will need to be addressed first.

When Somnowell Isn’t Suitable

Somnowell is not appropriate for:

  • People with severe OSA, who need more advanced treatment
  • Those who have active gum disease, significant decay, or unstable dental work
  • Individuals whose dental anatomy does not support an oral device

Next Steps

If your snoring is bothering you or you're concerned about mild sleep apnoea, Somnowell might be a helpful option — provided you pass a dental screening.
